Colorful art inspired by the beautiful Georgia Coast.

My childhood was amazing. I grew up on St. Catherines, an island completely dedicated to research and conservation. There is nowhere to spend money, get groceries, or attend school on the island. So when I was old enough I rode a boat to the mainland to school. However I much preferred a day spent at home exploring the marsh, climbing live oak trees, chasing wildlife, and fishing. Each evening we would sit around the table eating super, hopefully fish, and sharing the day's adventures. These stories ranged from unbelievable sea turtle encounters to daily bird sightings. Of course, like all good stories, we told them over and over again.Coastal Georgia especially the memories of my childhood are the inspiration for my art work. I try to create a sense of place or memory or just a fondness for Georgia's wildlife. Though I may retell a story from time to time each piece is unique and lovingly and prayerfully made.
